VVCI AD 2.20 LOCAL TRAFFIC REGULATIONS

1 Airport regulations
At CAT BI International Airport a number of local regulations have been applied. The regulations are published in a manual which is available at CAT BI ATS Reporting Office. This manual includes, among other subjects, the followings:
  1. The meaning of markings and signs;
  2. Information on aircraft stands including visual docking guidance systems;
  3. Information on taxiing from aircraft stands including taxi clearance;
  4. Limitations in the operation of large aircraft including limitations in the use of the aircraft's own power for taxiing;
  5. Marshaller and follow-me-car assistance.
2 Taxiing to and from stands
2.1
Arriving aircraft will be allocated a stand number by CAT BI Tower.
2.2 Operational procedure of aircraft stands

1, 2, 3
- Used for aircraft up to A320 and equivalent (wingspan up to but not including 36 M).
- For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into stands.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed to taxilane on the apron for departure.
Lưu ý:
- For stands 1 and 3:
In case operating aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 M and length up to but not including 40 M without appropriate tow bar: Operate aircraft at the stop line for A320 with self-taxi in/out procedures when:
+ For stand 1: There is no aircraft parking at stand 2.
+ For stand 3: There is no aircraft parking at stands 2, 4A.
1A
- Used for aircraft with length less than 12 Mand wingspan less than 16 M.
- For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into holding position, shut down engine, then aircraft are pushed to stand. First arriving aircraft taxi into stand 1A, then the next aircraft taxi into stand 1B.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed to holding position to start-up for departure. Aircraft parking at stand 1B shall depart before aircraft parking at stand 1A.
Note:Aircraft are expected to taxi to/from stand 1A or 1B in case there is no aircraft parking at stand 2.
1B,1C, 1D, 1E, 1F
- Used for aircraft with length less than 9M and wingspan less than 11M.
- For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into holding position, shut down engine and then aircraft are pushed to stand.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed to holding position to start-up and self-taxi to RWY for departure.
4A, 5A, 7, 9, 10, 11
- Used for aircraft up to A321 and equivalent (wingspan up to but not including 36 M).
- For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into stands.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed to taxilane on the apron for departure.
Note: Stand 9 is equipped with passenger bridge.
5, 6, 8
- Used for aircraft up to B777 and equivalent (wingspan up to but not including 65 M).
- Equipped with passenger bridge.
-For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into stands.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft are pushed to taxilane on the apron for departure.
Note:Stand 6 is equipped with passenger bridge.

- Used for aircraft wingspanup to but not including 36 Mand length up to but not including 40 M.
- For arrival aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi into stands.
- For departure aircraft: Aircraft self-taxi out.

2.2.1 Simultaneously operational procedures for aircraft stands:
- Option 1: Simultaneously operating maximum 7 stands code C: 4A, 5A, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 11 (stands 6 & 9 are equipped with passenger bridge).
- Option 2: Simultaneously operating 3 stands code C and 2 stands code E, details are as follows:

2.2.2 Limitation operation:
  • When stands 1C and 1D are in use, stand 2 shall not be used.
  • When operating stands 4A, 5A for aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 m: Do not operate aircraft at stand 5. Only operate stand 6 for aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 m;
  • When operating stand 5 for aircraft with wingspan more than 36 m and inclusive: Do not operate aircraft at stands 4A, 5. Only operate stand 6 for aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 m;
  • When operating stand 5 for aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 m: Do not operate aircraft at stands 4A, 5A;
  • When operating stand 6 for aircraft with wingspan more than 36 m and inclusive: Do not operate aircraft at stands 5A, 7. Only operate stand 4A or stand 5 for aircraft with wingspan up to but not including 36 m at the same time;
  • When operating stand 7: Do not operate aircraft at stand 8 and do not operate aircraft with wingspan more than 36 m and inclusive at stand 6;
  • When operating stand 8: Do not operate aircraft at stands 7 and 9;
  • When operating stand 9: Do not operate aircraft at stands 8;
  • When operating stands 4A, 5, 5A, 6, 7 and 9: In case there is aircraft operating at adjacent stand, warning the safe distance to aircraft wing-tip when there is aircraft taxi in/out stands 4A, 5, 5A, 6, 7 and 9;
  • Stands 11 and 11A: Using taxilane to stand and do not operating at the same time.

3 Putting the safety cones around the aircraft
In case of need to mark stop line, safety cones will be placed on the both sides of the stop line, 2 m to 3 m from the centre line of the taxilane to stand before aircraft taxi into stand.
