Introduction of International NOTAM Office

The International NOTAM Office, previously named as the International NOTAM Office under the Air Traffic Coordination & Command Center, has been established under the Decision No.1480/QĐ-HĐQT dated 20 May 2009 by VATM’s Board of Management.

On October 24th 2011, International NOTAM Office was formally established under Decision No. 559/QD-HDTV dated 14 October 2011 by VATM’s Members’ Councils.

The International NOTAM Office is responsible for providing aeronautical information service related to NOTAM in accordance with ICAO standards and recommended practices such as receiving, validating, processing the suitable information to issue NOTAM to other international NOTAM  offices and domestic/oversea operators; ensuring global NOTAM data to be updated and accurate to timely provide for AIS units at Vietnam’s aerodromes to originate PIB, the units providing air traffic service, communication – navigation - surveillance services, meteorology service, search and rescue service and for the operators as agreed; storing documents of aeronautical information service as required; originating and distributing monthly list of valid NOTAM.

Besides, NOF also receives military operation information on harzard to affect civil aviation activities from agencies and units of the Ministry of Defense to report to the authority; participate in the preparing operational manuals and signing;  written agreements on the provision of aeronautical information related to flight operations with the units providing air traffic service, communication – navigation – surveillance services, meteorology service, search and rescue service and other domestic/oversea agencies.

The NOTAM origination and distribution are currently conducted on the automated AIS system. Therefore, The NOTAM database are always updated adequately and accurately.

By JUN 2016, staff of the NOF is 16 members. The International NOTAM office was honored to receive many awards.
