Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) is a service established within the defined area of coverage responsible for the provision of aeronautical information/data necessary for the safety, regularity and efficiency of air navigation.

Viet Nam’s aeronautical information services, which is provided in accordance with the provisions in Annex 15 - Aeronautical Information Services of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Regulation on the Aeronautical Information Services of Viet Nam (2007 edition) promulgated by the Minister of Transport, is one of the five key services of the air traffic management services to ensure flight operations.

The Viet Nam Aeronautical Information Center (VNAIC) are utilizing the Automated AIS System to provide the following products related to AIS:

• Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP);
• Amendment service to the AIP (AIP AMDT);
• Supplement to the AIP (AIP SUP);
• Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC);
• Notice to Airmen (NOTAM);
• Pre-flight Information Bullentins (PIB); and
• Checklists and Lists of valid NOTAM.

In addition, the Automated AIS System also provides functionalities relating to Flight Plan, Aeoronautical Meteorological messages that assist users in updating information concerning each flight.
